Just like Hood's forces at the battle of Atlanta the Giants started Monday nights battle outnumbered. A similarly sly and subtle use of their flanks, combined with a stout rearguard, wore down the morale of the opposition before two breathtaking sorties shortly before the interval gave RJG a 2 goal advantage.

The underdogs, now confident of their bark and bite, began to ton on the style in the second half. (Insert oppositions names) just couldn't get near the Giants quick tails, within ten minutes of the restart Ben Paul had completed his hat trick, the Giants had five and only the goalkeepers nifty footwork prevented the tally rising.

An understandably tiring Giants were disappointed to lose a goal to one of the few real scoring opportunities (insert name) made all match, goalkeeper Davies loudly bemoaning his inability to return to base with a clean sheet. However even the best armies suffer casualties. A couple of hefty knocks ensured the Giants sat out the remaining minutes from the trenches by the medical tent. A disciplined and at times dazzling display ensuring all three points.
